The Ormond Station Community Development District (CDD) is a local, special purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, established May 19, 2023 and created by Ordinance No. 2023-08 of the Board of County Commissioners of Flagler County, Florida as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The Ormond Station CDD is located entirely within the boundaries of the Flagler County, Florida, comprising a parcel or parcels of land containing approximately 67.729 acres, located north of, and adjacent to, Airport Road and west of the Flagler County/Volusia County boundary.
The powers and functions of the District are described in Section 190.012(1) Florida Statutes.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
